THE PRESENT

The very good integration between instrumental and informatic knowledge today SIAP to answer the customer needs with a complete range products and services. The Technical Assistance service allows the company to propose turn-key systems all around the world supporting the customer in every phase of the system's life-cycle. Outstanding MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) values are achieved thanks to the special care applied during design, manufacturing and installation.


On request, it is possible to monitor the supplied systems with a central unit installed in SIAP premises, connected to the stations by telephone line or by satellite. A great care is given to the updating of the offered products and services: significant investments for the development of new technologies, as well as the close cooperation with Universities and Research Centers allow SIAP to maintain a first-rate role in the environmental monitoring field.


SIAP's main Italian customers are: Italian Meteorological Service, Italy's Agency for Air Traffic and Aeronautical Services, Ministry of Public Works and other Ministries, Regions, Provinces and Municipalities, ENEL, ENEA, CNR, private companies, end users and various organisations. The foreign customers are mainly National Meteorological Services, Ministries of Agriculture and Environment, Air Forces, Research Institutes, World Meteorological Organization, United Nations (FAO, UNESCO etc.).

SIAP has connections with almost all countries in the world.


FIELD ACTIVITIES

Aeronautical Meteorology and Air Traffic Services
Instruments and automatic systems (AWOS) to measure meteorological parameters for flight safety. Visibility recording systems (RVR), cloud height indicator, wind speed and direction sensors according to ICAO recommandations.

General meteorology and clymatology
Data collection Platforms (DCP), networked by satellite, by radio or by telephone lines, for the survey of the climate of an area.

Hydrology and water quality monitoring
Telemetering systems for automatic hydrometeorological data collection of watershed, lakes and sea. Analysis and processing for the collected data for flood forecasting by means of suitable and proved alogorithms and models. On-line water quality analysis integrated in telemetering systems.

Agrometeorology
Systems operating both on a local and regional basis, providing a more effective management of the agricultural resources. Processing of collected data provides information for guides defence against plant diseases with reduction in the use of pesticides, thereby optimising the use of water resources and fertilisers. Expert systems for decision support to increase management effectiveness.

 

COMPANY ORGANIZATION

Since November 1997 SIAP belongs to the TEI Group, consisting of five Companies, all operating in the Environmental and Infrastructural Sector but specializing in different areas of activity. These Companies working together are able to cover the full range of services usually required in any multi-disciplinary Project, including Field Investigations and Monitoring, Environmental Quality and Laboratory Analyses. Baldo is a Consulting Engineering Company with a long-standing international experience in the areas of Energy (hydro, thermal, geo-thermal), Industrial and Agro-Industrial Development. Major overseas clients include UNIDO and the World Bank.

·        TEI S.I. (Servizi per le Imprese) Srl
TEI S.I. provides Physical, Chemical and Biological Laboratory Services, assisting industries and municipalities in complying with Environmental and Safety Regulations (safety, industrial hygiene, air and water quality, solid waste management, indoor air quality, noise and vibration, etc.). TEI S.I. started his activity in 1971 and used to work as a Division of TEI SpA until early 1998, when it was established as an independent company, part of the TEI Group.

 ·        PICODATA S.r.l.
Picodata S.r.l. is a software development Company specialized in Environmental and Meteorological applications. The second field of activity covers the design, engineering and production of industrial and building automation equipment, focusing on access control and security systems.
